   The Story of Iain 

      I met Iain in October 2002, when I worked at the Chiropractic Office.   He was a patient there and found himself comfortable with me.  Before I left work, I offered him my business card in case he wanted to come in for counselling or healing sometime. 

    It was the third week of February, 2003, when Iain came in for a counselling session.  He was able to open up to me and share aspects of his life and experiences.  He said it was unlike him to visit someone like myself, a holistic healer, as he was quite skeptical by nature and not entirely trusting of individuals who claimed to do spiritual work.  Although he claimed to be skeptical, he showed a level of trust in me that was very genuine.

    Iain came back one week later and in addition to the counselling session, he agreed to a healing session.  He had been suffering from extreme muscle pain in and around his heart, and torn muscles in his throat.  He had been to the doctors and was taking medicine and painkillers for his pain and possible infection.  After the healing, he found his throat was no longer sore, although the pain in and around his chest continued. 

    Although Iain's throat was remarkably improved, the pain in his chest continued and he was experiencing extreme pain.  Although he visited his doctor and was given a different antibiotic to help him, it wasn't helping him.  Over the next couple of weeks Iain came in for a few more healing sessions.  With each session Iain reported the various feelings and experiences he had with the energy and found that something was indeed shifting and improving. 

    It turns out that Iain was suffering from an auto-immune problem that caused the body to attack the muscles.  Once this was discovered, a proper antibiotic treatment was given and Iain's muscle pain began to subside. 

    Although this particular problem began to shift with the combination of medicine and energy, he was soon to discover that part of his additional pain and problems was due to a toxic reaction to medicine he had been taking.  He was experiencing symptoms of toxicity - vertigo, nausea, muscle weakness, tremors and exhaustion.  Because he had been suffering with the auto-immune problem that caused such pain in his muscles, many of these symptoms of toxicity were masked.  Once the auto-immune problem was under control, the toxicity became highlighted.

    He believes the energy work over these past 6 weeks has allowed the body to heal faster than it would have, had he not had the healing work done.

    Additionally, Iain has suffered for over four years with stasis dermatitis, that was quite advanced.  Stasis Dermatitis is something that normally affects older people, and Iain is under 40 years old.  Due to poor circulation, the calves, ankles and feet swell, the veins swell and discoloration occurs.  In Iain's case, his feet were black and blue and in very poor shape.  There was no cure for this and vein surgery was the only option to help this situation.  With such poor circulation, there is an added risk of stroke and blood clots.

    Recently, after receiving treatment in the past six weeks, Iain has reported a vast improvement - about 75% in his feet.  He recently visited his doctor and surprised the doctor with his feet, his speedy recovery from lithium toxicity, positive outlook and appreciation for life. 

    The doctor does not understand why Iain's feet have improved so much, as he felt it was next to impossible to have this happen.  He is impressed with Iain's lower blood pressure, normal cholesterol and positive attitude.  His doctor was surprised that Iain's throat healed as quickly as it did.  He had x-rays taken before the healing that showed the torn muscle and x-rays taken a couple of weeks later that showed the throat healed. 

    In addition to the physical shifting that Iain has undergone as a result of the healing, he has shifted emotionally, spiritually and mentally as well.  Iain no longer feels he can lay claim to being a skeptic, he says he has seen and experienced too much with this healing work to make that statement any longer.  Emotionally he is more stable, happy and content with himself.  He has re-discovered his sense of humour, appreciation for, and love of life.  Spiritually Iain's world has been rocked by the concept of putting out requests to the universe and seeing the positive outcome of trust, faith and love.  Mentally, Iain is a completely rejuvenated and re-energized individual who once again is seeing himself for who he truly is, not who he thought he was.

    Iain is a testament to this energy and the power of trust.  When I first met him, he claimed to be filled with anger, negativity and was not a happy person.  He said it was time to change and he wanted more for himself.  I saw Iain as the gentle, kind, loving, compassionate person that he is.  He now understands that his past behaviour was not who he is, and that has given him the chance to experience his true essence - the beauty within.

    He has taken responsibility for his healing and has experienced a remarkable recovery.  Although there is still a ways to go in Iain's healing journey - he has fully embraced this journey. 

Update:  April 16, 2003

    As Iain's body de-toxed due to the lithium toxicity, numerous kidney stones were created.  Over the past five days, Iain has passed over 80 stones varying in size from 1mm to 5mm.   Today, after a visit to a doctor and an ultrasound, it was discovered that Iain had one more good-sized stone.  I worked with Iain and within 6 hours, this stone passed.  What was a relatively large stone, with the help of the energy, was broken down into 7 small stones which he passed in a six hour time frame.

What does it mean to be instrumental in saving a person’s life?

    Since I began working with Iain, back in February 2003, he has often said to me he is indebted to me and that I had saved his life.  It wasn’t until this evening that I understood what that meant and really began to understand what this healing has the potential to do.

    I met Iain in October of 2002 at the chiropractor’s office that I worked at.  He was a patient at that time, and I was the receptionist.  I was quitting in December of that year and gave him a card with my office number and told him to call me if he felt I could help him.  He knew I did counselling and mentioned he most likely would call me in the new year.

    Late February he contacted me for a session and I saw him at the end of the month.  He talked for a couple of hours and proceeded to book another appointment for the following week.  He was able to open up to me about many of the situations in his life that had caused him pain and about his most recent painful experience, the loss of his beloved cat.

    A couple of weeks later he complained of illness and pain in his throat and chest and I offered to do healing work on him, if he wanted me to.  At that point in time, he felt he had nothing to lose, so why not give it a try.

    Unbeknownst to me, there was a greater plan at work than I even realized.  Iain’s health began improving with each session that I did.  He experienced healing in his body from lower blood pressure, to relief of aches and pains throughout his body.  His mental attitude changed and he began to see a healing on many other fronts, areas I was not aware of until today.

    I was unaware when Iain first approached me that he was seeking me out for my spiritual guidance and counselling to help him in his acceptance of his inevitable death.  In November of 2002, he began experiencing symptoms of kidney pain and illness and recently was diagnosed with the start of his left kidney failing to be followed by the failure of the right kidney then the liver and eventually the heart shutting down, if had not given out before the liver.  It was discovered that his heart in addition to mitral valve prolapse, was also somewhat misshapen and pumping toxin blood through the system, as opposed to clean blood.  Due to severe problems in the veins in his heart, a heart transplant, although considered, was ruled out.  It was determined that the vein damage was too severe and that Iain would unlikely even survive a heart transplant operation. 

    After a series of test, it was determined that the level of toxins in Iain’s bloodstream was dangerous and was not reversing.  The toxins being pumped through his system was creating havoc on his organs and the left kidney was already beginning the cycle of failure and eventual shutdown.  The local hospital attempted to clean the blood at the in the month of February, but discovered that his system was too toxic and the procedure was not helping him.  It was decided that dialysis was not helping him and this course of treatment was discontinued.  The diagnosis he received in February of 2003 was that he would not make it through to the end of the year.  His doctor gave him the difficult news.  Iain was informed that, at the age of 38, he was unlikely to live another 8-10 months and that he should prepare himself for the inevitable - death.

    Part of Iain’s decision to see me for counselling that February was to prepare himself mentally for his death and to find peace with it.  He had felt he was a very negative person and wanted to have a positive attitude, find acceptance of his fate and thus be able to tell his family and know they would be okay with it.

    Fate took a different route than the one he expected.  The first sign he had that something was happening was in March when he went for his yearly eye exam.  Since the age of 6, Iain had been aware of the severe damage done to his right eye in an operation that was supposed to correct a problem with his eyesight.  The damage to the ligaments in his eye were so severe that he was aware that any blow to his right eye could cause the lense to pull away and cause permanent blindness in an already near-blind eye.  The doctor was amazed that the eyesight was slightly improved and the strength in the ligaments had also improved slightly.  This had not happened before and the eye doctor was somewhat startled by the findings.  The findings alerted Iain to the possibility that something might be occurring with the healing work that I was doing on him.  It was the first time that he allowed himself the luxury of believing in possibilities.

    In March, the doctor was amazed that the left kidney, which was presently at 60% of regular operation and had been previously found to be deteriorating, was no longer doing so.  A few weeks later the doctor was again surprised by the findings that the kidney in addition to longer deteriorating, was now back to regular functioning.  The damage and eventual shutdown of the kidney seemed to have been stopped.

    Additionally, the doctor discovered that Iain’s health was improving.  He was at a loss of how to describe the change in Iain’s health.  Each subsequent group of tests showed a decrease in toxins through the system and an improvement in his body’s health.  The doctor continued to monitor Iain’s system for toxicity, the kidney for damage and failure as well as a variety of other tests to check his system and his health.

    Iain was found to be suffering from an immune problem that affected the muscles in his body.  The muscle around the heart and the muscles throughout his body were inflamed and there was an infection present.  He was treated for this and in this process, we discovered his body was quite toxic and he was suffering from lithium toxicity. 

    Each step of the way I helped him through healing sessions and he received doctor’s care when necessary for the infections, inflammation and deterioration of his system.  His heart continued to ache and have numerous muscular pains due to the enzyme problem associated with the auto-immune disease that was discovered.  The severe toxicity that his body underwent as a result of the lithium caused him to pass over 90 stones in less than a week.  (Iain had been misdiagnosed as bipolar and had been taking lithium).

    Throughout these months the doctor noted that his normally high blood pressure, was no longer high and began to reduce the dosage of his medication.  His feet which had been showing discolouration due to poor circulation was improving.  His overall physical strength and endurance was getting better and he was able to walk farther distances and feel less exhausted.  Additionally, the doctor noted other positive test results and began to see positive changes in Iain’s behaviour and outlook.

    As time progressed, we began to notice a pattern of toxicity in his body and the need to purge his system of medications that he had been given for a variety of ailments; from nausea to migraines.  His body was quite toxic and with each cleansing of toxicity, the auto-immune ailment seemed to affect his body and we were battling toxicity and muscular pain and infection.

    The medications have been decreased and his health has improved.  The toxicity that was running through his system due to the heart problem has improved greatly.  The doctor recently mentioned that the Mitral Valve Prolapse that Iain had been diagnosed with in 1986 was no longer an issue.  He would not need to consider an operation, nor would he have to consider his life ending in the next few months. 

    Iain recently suffered a fall that cracked his shoulder in two places.  An x-ray was taken and after one healing session, the shoulder was no longer hurting and he was able to hold things in his hand again.  He went back for another x-ray and surprised the x-ray technician and doctor with a full recovery.  Additionally, a rip in the kidney that was discovered, also was found to be healed completely without the need for surgery.

    Iain has been going to his doctor faithfully for tests and follow-ups for all his ailments and illnesses.  All his health improvements have been documented.  Each step of the way, Iain has continued to get healing sessions and take allopathic medicines when instructed to.  After each subsequent bout of toxicity and muscular problems due to the immune problem, we monitored his intake of medication and reduced certain medications which increased his toxic load.  Throughout the last few months, due to the severe toxicity of his system, Iain has chosen to remove most of the medications his doctor had prescribed for his ailments such as nausea, migraines, bloating and such.  He has modified his dietary habits and has supplemented his diet with vitamins, minerals and herbs.   He does not drink or smoke.  He has limited his intake of animal proteins and has tried to eat a healthier diet consisting of fruits and vegetables.  He tries to exercise daily and his detoxification has been aided by daily saunas and the herbal supplement Flora Essence.

    Iain is in the process of recovering from a vast array of ailments, aches, pains, heart problems and toxicity which have plagued him for years.  The original diagnosis of kidney, liver and heart failure has been rescinded and Iain’s health has continued to improve. 

    The man who showed up in February expecting to come to terms with, and accept his approaching death, has instead found himself.   His journey toward death took a miraculous step and became a journey toward life and healing.   

Personal Note:  September 24, 2003

   While working on Iain, I had no idea how close to death he was and how toxic his body had been.  Even at this time, the toxicity level is astounding and even more astounding is the realization that things are shifting so much for him and that even his physician is trying to understand energy healing. 

    Tonight he reported what the recent findings of his tests, ultrasounds and x-rays have shown.  On a previous ultrasound there was extensive scar tissue and damage in his heart and the surrounding tissue.  Today, the ultrasound showed obvious marks on his heart where something had shifted a blockage that could have potentially killed him.  The blockage, which I detected this past weekend and worked on, was gone, but there was evidence on the ultrasound of where the blockage had been.  Additionally, there was a decreased amount of scar tissue (approximately 25%).  The doctor knew that Iain had not undergone any surgery and that I had been doing healing work with him.

    Iain's spleen had previously been so damaged, that it was considered useless and the most recent test showed an increase of approximately 20% in size and the test of the tissue showed the organ is recovering.   Iain's immune system is very compromised and this organ's improvement shows a very positive sign for his health.

    Although the toxicity level in Iain's body and organs is still quite high, his doctor feels he is on the road to recovery.

    Recovery for Iain and the healing process has not been a painless one.  While submitting to the energy work, I have watched Iain undergo what I can only say is tremendous pain.  Yet, he has always had faith and trust in what I am doing and in my desire to help him.  I have found that the strength of the energy I am working with when working on him is very strong, powerful and intense.  In fact, this past weekend while working on Iain's heart unbeknownst to me I cracked two ribs.  The next day he was aware of the ribs being fixed.  The ultrasound and x-rays he had today confirmed this, as there was evidence of the cracked ribs and the repair.  His doctor, who has seen numerous tests of Iain's was aware that the cracked ribs was a recent event.  I am not strong enough to crack a person's ribs and I was not using physical force to do this, the ribs cracked due to the energy work.

    I am updating this information tonight after we discussed the recent findings at Iain's doctor's appointment tonight.  My belief in the energy and in the universe has only strengthened.  I truly believe there is a grander picture at play here, one that I am so honoured to play a part in.
