Rainbow
Bridge
Just this side of heaven
is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent;
His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses
rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Desiderata
by Max Ehrmann
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are a vexation to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrender the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
- Max Ehrmann

St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226)
Lord, make me an instrument
of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I
may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.

The True Peace
by Black Elk
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.

Buddha (563 B.C.-483 B.C.)
Do not believe what you have
heard.
Do not believe in tradition because it is handed down many generations.
Do not believe in anything that has been spoken of many times.
Do not believe because the written statements come from some old sage.
Do not believe in conjecture.
Do not believe in authority or teachers or elders.
But after careful observation and analysis, when it agrees with reason
and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it.

The Six Mistakes of Man
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 B.C.-43 B.C.)
1. The illusion that
personal gain is made up of crushing others.
2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind, and
not acquiring the habit of reading and study.
6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Marianne Williamson
Our deepest fear is not that
we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Neale Donald
Walsch
Conversations with God (Book 2)
Be a light unto the world,
and hurt it not. Seek to build, not destroy.
Be your shining example. Seek only Godliness. Speak only in truthfulness.
Act only in love. Live the Law of Love now and forevermore.
Give everything, require nothing. Avoid the mundane.
Do not accept the unacceptable. Teach all who seek to learn of God.
Make every moment of your life an outpouring of love.
Use every moment to think the highest thought,
say the highest word, do the highest deed.
In this, glorify your Holy Self, and thus, too, glorify God.
Bring peace to the Earth by bringing peace to all those
whose lives you touch.
Be peace. Feel and express in every moment
your Divine Connection with the All, and with every person,
place, and thing.
Embrace every circumstance, own every fault,
share every joy, contemplate every mystery, walk in every man's shoes,
forgive every offense (including your own), heal every heart,
protect every person's rights, preserve every person's dignity,
presume every person's holiness, present every person's greatest gifts,
produce every person's blessing, and pronounce every person's future
secure in the assured love of God.
Be a living, breathing example of the Highest Truth that resides within you.
Speak humbly of yourself, lest someone mistake your Highest Truth for a boast.
Speak softly, lest someone think you are merely calling for attention.
Speak gently, that all might know of Love.
Speak openly, lest anyone think you have something to hide.
Speak candidly, so you cannot be mistaken.
Speak often, so that your work may truly go forth.
Speak respectfully, that no one be dishonored.
Speak of God with every utterance. Make of your life a gift.
Remember always, you are the gift! Be a gift to everyone who enters your life,
and to everyone whose life you enter.
Be careful not to enter another's life if you cannot be a gift.
(You can always be a gift, because you always are the gift -
yet sometimes you don't let yourself know that.)
I tell you this:
Every person who has ever come to you has come to receive a gift from you.
In so doing, he gives a gift to you -
the gift of your experiencing and fulfilling Who You Are.
When you see this simple truth, when you understand it,
you see the greatest truth of all:
God has sent you nothing but angels.

Epictetus (55-135)
You are a distinct portion of
the essence of God in yourself.
Why, then, are you ignorant of your noble birth?
Why do you not consider whence you came?
Why do you not remember when you are eating,
who you are who eat; and whom you feed:
Do you not know that it is the divine you feed;

You carry a God about with you.
Men are disturbed not by

Fihi Ma Fihi #15
(translated by Kabir and Camille Helminski)
Mevlana
Jalaluddin Rumi
(1207-1273)
If you speak well of another, the good will return to you. The good and praise you speak of another you speak in reality of yourself. A parallel would be when someone plants a garden and herb bed around his house. Every time he looks out he sees flowers and herbs. If you accustom yourself to speak well of others, you are always in a "paradise." When you do a good deed for someone else you become a friend to him, and whenever he thinks of you he will think of you as a friend - and thinking of a friend is as restful as a flower garden. When you speak ill of someone else, you become detestable in his sight so that whenever he thinks of you he will imagine a snake or a scorpion, or thorns and thistles. Now, if you can look at the flowers in a garden day and night, why would you wander in a briar patch or a snake pit? Love everybody so that you may always stay among the flowers of the garden. If you hate everybody and imagine enemies everywhere, it would be like wandering day and night in a briar patch or snake pit.
The saints love everybody and see everything as good, not for anyone else's sake but for their own, lest a hateful, detestable image come into their view. Since there is no choice in this world but to think of people, the saints have striven to think of everybody as a friend so that hatred may not mar their way.
So, everything you do with regard to people and every mention you make of them, good or evil, will all return to you.

The original website
Back in 1999 I created angelenergy.com to be a reflection of my thoughts at the time. At that point in my life, I had been writing a journal for a year and had compiled many of my thoughts and my words on the website.
Although I no longer have the website, the journals or the information I had so painstakingly incorporated into my website, I have kept a few of the comments that were posted to my guestbook. I am including them because they are very inspirational.

"Your site touched my soul today especially after I called on the Angels last week. Upon entering your site the song that played "My heart will go on" meant something to me. It meant it was a sign from the Angels that I prayed for.. to show me a sign. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am going through a very depressing time right now and what you explained about feeling their presence ... well, I can feel it especially today."
"Recently, I've felt that my light of hope had been extinguished. I'd felt that my life had been de-railed and that, due to the recent stresses in my life, I had lost my grip on life as I had known it. The past year and a half has brought life challenges that I never anticipated; and they have tested my strength and spiritual reserve. On many occasions, I have desperately asked God why so many things seem to be piling up and why I feel the need to take control of every potentially harmful situation and protect the ones I love...but my questions had gone unanswered...until today.
Early this morning, as I awoke restless and alert, I felt compelled to do some research on my computer for a classmate who had been suffering from an auto-immune illness of unknown origin. Having recently seen a television show reporting on a certain mold that can grow out of control in a home and cause progressively debilitating symptoms to those living within the home. I could not remember the name so I used a search engine and typed in the command of "mold + illness + home". Listed as one of the first results was this loving angel website. This seemed odd to me that it would appear since it didn't have anything to do with a mold that can grow in your home and cause illness. I felt compelled to open the website and was truly amazed at what message was before my eyes. The messages on this website about compassion, trust, hope, acceptance and understanding seemed to speak right to me, at a time when I most needed it.
Because I have lost so many beloved family members in my life to cancer, I have honestly believed that I have guardian angels looking out for me, guiding my life in a positive direction and protecting me from harm. Receiving this message this morning was proof to me that they are watching out for me and that they truly do exist; at least in my heart and mind. I'm so grateful to them for giving me the answers that I needed to hear this morning. I am passing on this site to others as I'm sure there are messages in there for all of us."
"I can't explain how I ended up at your site, just did, like I was led here. I must tell you my story and why I felt compelled to write you.
My husband died 4-3-99 unexpectedly. For a year I felt a guilt that I could have saved him if I had only been working in the yard with him. Three months after he died he came to me during the night, the energy level was powerful, the sheets moved across my chest in a rippling motion and he was there, not in his physical form, but he was there. I felt so much joy and we talked and talked. The only words I could remember was he was very concerned for me. He was worried about my health because I wasn't eating right and taking care of myself. He said the boys still needed me. He was right! I had lost 20lbs, from 118 to 98, and I just didn't care anymore.) He left me, I don't know where we were, but it was not our bedroom at this point, but he soon returned. Upon his return he was in his physical form about two arm's length in front of me. He told me that when he was called he had to go and he was being called again and must leave. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was working "internationally". I tried to keep him there and asked him "What about all of our loved ones, had he seen them?" He smiled and said "Oh yes, I've seen them all and they are all doing well", then he started naming them, many names I had never heard of. He then said, "Deanna we are all with you everyday". With that he left me.
I was returned to our bed, the sheets were making a rippling motion and noise across my chest. I forced my eyes open as soon as I did, the sheets stopped.
His last message to me coincides to one of the writings in your messages. I just wanted to share this with you, what I experienced was so real. As far as the guilt lasting a year, that is another story and John was allowed to share with me another message to help me stop this useless wasteful human feeling.
Thank you for your messages, they truly have helped and as I have learned and have so much more to learn, have inspired me to continue my journey with awakening me to avenues I need to pursue. I also wanted to share with you a feeling I began to have about 9 months after my husband's death. As I was trying to make sense of this loss in our lives it entered my head that life was mainly about two things: Love all you can love and learn all you can learn. Your messages also reinforced this thought."
The Jar with the Dry Rim
(translated by Robert Bly)Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi
The mind is an ocean ... I and so many worlds
are rolling there, mysterious, dimly seen!
And our bodies? Our body is a cup, floating
on the ocean; soon it will fill, and sink ...
Not even one bubble will show where it went down.The spirit is so near that you can't see it!
But reach for it ... don't be a jar
full of water, whose rim is always dry.
Don't be the rider who gallops all night
and never sees the horse that is beneath him.
Those you are With
(translated by Coleman Bark)Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi
What is a real connection between people?
When the same knowledge
opens a door between them. When the same inner sight exists
in you as in another, you are drawn to be companions.
When a man feels in himself the innermost nature of a woman,
he is drawn to her sexually. When a woman
feels the masculine self of a man within her,
she wants him physically in her.When you feel the qualities of Gabriel in you, you fly up quickly
like a fledgling not thinking of the ground.
When you feel asinine qualities in you, no matter how you try
to do otherwise, you will head toward the stable.The mouse is not despicable for its form,
which is a helpless victim to birds of prey,
the mouse who loves dark places and cheese
and pistachio nuts and syrup. When the white falcon, though,
has the inner nature of a mouse, it is a disgrace to all animals.
Angelic figures and criminals
shackled head-down in a pit are similar looking,
same arms, same head. Moses is a bright spirit.
Pharaoh disgusting with his sorcery.Always search for your innermost nature
in those you are with.
As role oil imbibes from roses.
Even on the grave of a holy man, a holy man lays his face
and hands and takes in light.

To know Tao
meditate
and still the mind.
Knowledge comes with perseverance.The Way is neither full nor empty;
a modest and quite nature understands this.
The empty vessel, the uncarved block;
nothing is more mysterious.When enlightenment arrives
don't talk too much about it;
just live it in your own way.
With humility and depth, rewards come naturally.The fragrance of blossoms soon passes;
the ripeness of fruit is gone in a twinkling.
Our time in this world is so short,
better to avoid regret:
Miss no opportunity to savor the ineffable.Like a golden beacon signaling on a moonless night,
Tao guides our passage through this transitory realm.
In moments of darkness and pain
remember all is cyclical.
Sit quietly behind your wooden door:
Spring will come again.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
for thou art with me;
the rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head
with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord forever.
Paramahansa Yogananda
(1893-1952)Man has falsely identified himself with the pseudo-soul
or ego. When he transfers his sense of identity to
his true being, the immortal Soul, he discovers that all
pain is unreal. He no longer can even
imagine the state of suffering.
Patanjali
(estimated: 1BC - 3BC)When you are inspired by some great
purpose, some extraordinary project,
all your thoughts break their bonds;
Your mind transcends limitations,
your consciousness expands in every direction,
and you find yourself in a new, great
and wonderful world.
Dormant forces, faculties and talents
become alive, and you discover yourself
to be a greater person by far
than you ever dreamed
yourself to be.
True Responsibility
Embracing The Present
by Leonard JacobsonTrue responsibility exists within your recognition
that every choice and every decision you make
and every action you take leads inevitably
to the consequences which follow.
Whatever you are experiencing in your life right
now is directly attributable to some earlier choice
or decision you have made in the past.
Learn how to connect the dots and you will be free.
This means connect the choice or the decision
made by you in the past with the consequences
which you are currently experiencing.
Take responsibility for your choices and decisions
and see that you are creating everything
that is happening in your life now,
whether it is positive or negative.
Once you truly understand and accept this,
you will have entered into true responsibility.
You will have put an end to blame, guilt, control,
expectation and resentment in your life.
The Four Agreements
Embracing The Present
by Don Miguel RuizBE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean.
Avoid using the word to speak against yourself
or to gossip about others. Use the power of
your word in the direction of truth and love.DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What others
say and do is a projection of their own reality,
their own dreams. When you are immune
to the opinions and actions of others, you
won't be the victim of needless suffering.DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Find the courage to ask questions and to express
what you really want. Communicate with others
as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings,
sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement,
you can completely transform your life.ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your best is going to change from moment to moment;
it will be different when you are healthy as opposed
to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best,
and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
